fMRI

fMRI, which stands for functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a harmless and non-invasive way to see what areas of the brain are active during different tasks. During an fMRI experiment, the participant lies down on a table, views images projected onto a screen, and presses buttons depending on what images are seen. Scanning is done at the Duke-UNC Brain Imaging and Analysis Center (BIAC).
We are looking for individuals 18 - 55 years old who are diagnosed with High Functioning Autism, Major Depressive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, or no psychiatric illness to participate in fMRI studies. Reimbursement is typically $35-45 for scan sessions and $10/hour for other study appointments (assessments and screening).
If you are interested in participating in either of these studies please contact Ali Rittenberg at 919.951.9513 or amr54 at biac dot duke dot edu.
